MW4 DMZ Recipe and Weapon Manual loot routes: choose your run

Pick a route you can enter and leave with your current kit, rather than chasing a guaranteed-drop headline.

In short

For an unlock search without a room key, consider the recorded Cheonwang Peak Array three-safe route. If you already hold the matching key, compare Reactor 02 Control Room with the Re-Education Center Annex. Each has a recorded Manual or recipe find, but none establishes a guaranteed reward or drop rate. Extract with the actual unlock item; a finished gun or vest is a different reward.

  • Cheonwang: three safe stops without opening its Control Room
  • Reactor 02: matching key and radiation preparation
  • Annex: separate key and a ground-floor room
  • Observed rewards are examples, not guaranteed drops

Choose the route from your current inventory, then set one extraction goal. The three options below have recorded unlock-item finds and existing walkthroughs. They are useful places to search, not routes that promise a Manual, recipe or Blueprint on every run.

Choose a route by your key and equipment

What you can bringRoute to considerOne recorded findMain constraint
A combat-ready kit, no matching room keyCheonwang three-safe loopManual: PPSh-41Three buildings and defenders; safes may already be searched
Reactor 02 Control Room key and radiation protectionReactor 02 keyed stopSmelling Salts RecipeRadiation preparation, interior access and the correct key
Re-Education Center Annex keyDeadtown Annex room2-Plate Ballistic Gel Vest RecipeReaching the named door and surviving the return route

This is a planning comparison, not a ranking by drop chance. Start near the route that suits your deployment. Crossing Hajin for a room you cannot open wastes the time and equipment you could spend on a reachable objective.

Route 1: Cheonwang safes when you have no room key

The recorded Cheonwang Peak Array loop visits a low rear-entry building, the taller server building beside the telecom mast, then the central L-shaped building. The run leaves Iskra’s Control Room locked and still searches its three safe stops.

Prioritize the safes if the goal is an unlock. If you also need electronics, inspect individual server-blade prompts while moving through the taller building. The same deployment shows useful ingredient finds, but extra container searches should not consume the resources you need to leave.

The central-building safe produces Manual: PPSh-41. That is a demonstrated find, not proof every safe can supply that same Manual. A Shopping DRC Locker key also appears in the run; its destination is beneath NuriGO Mall, not another room at the Array. Save that separate trip for when you have a plan for its access requirements.

Route 2: Reactor 02 Control Room with the matching key

Prepare the radiation protection before traveling to Haneul. The original Control Room clip begins inside Reactor 02, reaches an upper catwalk beside the damaged circular reactor and shows a long windowed room with a gray single door. It does not supply a complete exterior approach.

The Reactor 02 Control Room key card lists H4. Use that as search guidance, then match the room. This stop is separate from the underwater Reactor DRC Locker, ordinary Chemical Storage and decontamination objectives.

One opening shows a Smelling Salts Recipe and Chemicals. Do not spend a different reactor key because you expect the same reward. If protection is running low, leaving with a useful ingredient can be a better result than forcing the keyed detour.

At the ground-floor annex in Deadtown, the recorded approach enters and turns immediately left toward a tan wooden door. Confirm RE-EDUCATION CENTER ANNEX on the unlock prompt and use its matching key.

A weapons locker in the opening shows a 2-Plate Ballistic Gel Vest 3D Printer Recipe. Finding a finished vest does not provide that reusable unlock. Read the name and type of your actual pickup; leave room for a recipe before filling the bag with equipment you can already replace.

No fixed Annex-key source or guaranteed recipe reward is established. If you lack the key, choose an accessible search instead of treating a room’s observed loot as a reason to arrive unprepared.

Read the loot card before choosing what to extract

PickupWhat you are trying to keep
Weapon ManualThe unlock for repeat purchases of that weapon at the Gunsmith
Printer RecipeThe reusable craft, subject to its requirements and inputs
Finished gun or vestThat piece of equipment; it is not automatically its Manual or recipe
Weapon BlueprintA distinct build/unlock category; check its own description

This distinction prevents a costly second trip. A named gun, a weapon case and a Manual are not interchangeable simply because they came from the same room.

Extract when the unlock is worth more than another room

Place an eligible valuable pickup in a Secure Slot when possible, then plan the exfil. Protection and the unlock’s successful-extraction requirement are different checks; do not assume a protected recipe has become printable during a failed run.

At the FOB, verify the recipe or Gunsmith entry before spending materials. If the actual item is still missing, review the pickup name and extraction result. For the next deployment, compare the loot-sorting advice with your remaining unlock goals rather than carrying every key back into danger.

Quick questions

Where should I search for a Weapon Manual without a room key?

The recorded Cheonwang three-safe loop is an option: it finds a PPSh-41 Manual without opening Iskra’s locked Control Room. That is one deployment, not a guaranteed Manual farm.

Does finding a gun unlock its Weapon Manual?

No. A finished gun and the Manual that unlocks repeat Gunsmith purchases are different items. Read the loot card and extract with the actual Manual.

Does a recipe found in a Secure Slot unlock immediately?

Do not assume so. Protection from losing an item and completing its extraction requirement are different checks. Confirm the reusable recipe at the FOB after a successful extraction.

Which route has the highest drop rate?

No comparable drop-rate dataset is established for these routes. Choose by the key, protection and equipment you already have rather than treating one recorded find as a percentage.
