MW4 DMZ level rewards: your roadmap from Level 1 to 70
Find your next useful unlock, then check the full reward list without confusing DMZ levels with weapon or account progression.

DMZ Player Level runs from 1 to 70. The 3D Printer opens at Level 2, the Vendor at 5, the Gunsmith at 10 and the Dog Tag Case at 20. DMZ XP advances this track; Multiplayer and Warzone XP do not. You retain earned DMZ XP even after a failed extraction.
- DMZ Player Level: 1–70
- Operator unlocks at Levels 4, 9, 15 and 19
- Item Stash rewards at Levels 22, 45 and 70
- A recipe unlock still needs crafting materials
Level 2 is your first major stop: it opens the 3D Printer and the starter recipes that let you replace equipment. Level 10 is another, opening the Gunsmith. Between those milestones, you earn recipes, supplies and Operators.
You can inspect your DMZ Player Level at the FOB’s progression station, through the side menu, or under Career → Progression. The visual reward timeline links individual rewards to their item and recipe pages; the tables below are a quick reference for planning.
Which level are you looking at?
| Track | What it advances | Why the distinction matters |
|---|---|---|
| DMZ Player Level, 1–70 | DMZ stations, recipes and other listed rewards | This is the track in this guide |
| Standard Player Level, 1–55 | Account Military Rank progression | It does not replace the DMZ level requirement |
| Operator Dog Tag levels | One Operator’s Trait Points | A high DMZ level does not automatically complete an Operator’s traits |
| Weapon levels | Attachments and weapon milestones | Each weapon has its own maximum |
DMZ XP advances the DMZ track and contributes to standard player progression. XP from Multiplayer or Warzone does not increase your DMZ Player Level. Read the Prestige comparison before resetting a weapon or Operator; those are separate decisions.
The unlocks to plan around
| Level | Unlock | Useful next step |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | Printer and starter recipes | Compare the materials for armor, healing and a backpack |
| 4 | Reece and Tactical printing | Check the new recipes before buying spare equipment |
| 5 | Vendor | Compare stock with what you can craft |
| 9 | Coffey | Review your Operator choices |
| 10 | Gunsmith | Budget for the gun and its build separately |
| 15 | Simone and one Active Duty slot | Prepare another Operator if you need a rotation |
| 19 | Hector | Another DMZ-earned Operator joins the roster |
| 20 | Dog Tag Case | Start planning around its storage limit |
| 22, 45, 70 | 18 item Stash slots at each level | Check the coming reward before paying for capacity |
| 28 | Fire Support printing | A category unlock; individual recipes still matter |
| 35, 60 | Six weapon Stash slots at each level | Review which guns are worth keeping |
| 48 | Self-Revive Kit recipe | Check its material cost in the Printer |
Read the reward type before planning a craft
The Level 2 Medium Backpack recipe unlocks repeat crafting once you have the materials. The Level 34 Large Backpack entry is an equipment reward; it is not listed as a recipe. Likewise, the Level 13 UAV is Fire Support, while Level 31 awards a UAV recipe.
That distinction prevents two costly mistakes: expecting a free item from a recipe unlock, or assuming a one-time equipment reward lets you print replacements. Follow the exact reward type in the table and use the recipe catalog for documented costs.
All documented rewards, Levels 1–70
Levels with blank entries in the published reward table are marked as unspecified. That does not mean they have a confirmed reward of nothing. Discount and bounty entries retain their listed amounts; this table does not add percentages together or assume how they stack.

Make each deployment serve a near-term goal
Pick your next useful milestone and combine normal progression with DMZ Orders or a Story Mission you can reasonably complete. For example, a player approaching Level 10 can gather cash and equipment while working toward Gunsmith access.
You keep earned DMZ XP after a failed extraction. That does not preserve every carried item, so an XP-focused run still needs an exit plan if you are carrying a Manual, recipe or valuable ingredient.
Once a station opens, use the FOB upgrade guide to decide what deserves your cash. Unlocking a menu is the start of that decision, not a reason to buy everything in it.
Quick questions
What is the maximum DMZ Player Level?
The DMZ-specific track runs to Level 70. The standard account Military Rank track runs from 1 to 55, and each Operator has separate Dog Tag progression.
Do I lose DMZ XP if I fail to exfil?
No. Earned DMZ Player XP is retained. Losing carried equipment is a separate consequence from keeping earned XP.
Does Multiplayer level up my DMZ stations?
No. Multiplayer and Warzone XP do not increase your DMZ Player Level. DMZ XP also contributes toward standard player progression.
Does unlocking a recipe give me a free item?
A recipe gives access to crafting that item; you still need the materials. A consumable, equipment or kit reward is a different reward type.
