Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This Privacy Policy explains how DMZ Codex (dmzcodex.com), operated by jikouken, handles information when you use our website.

Information processed when you visit

When you visit DMZ Codex, our website and service providers may process technical information such as your IP address, browser, device type, pages visited, referring website and interactions with our features.

Your browser sends an IP address when it connects to the website or an external service. Our hosting and third-party providers may process it to deliver, secure, measure or support their services. This is different from the tool progress saved in your browser.

If you contact us by email or Discord, we receive your email address or Discord username and the information you include in your message.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • Operate, maintain and secure the website.
  • Understand which pages and tools visitors find useful.
  • Improve our content, performance and features.
  • Respond to questions, feedback, correction requests and privacy requests.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use DMZ Codex. It may use cookies and process information about your device, browser, approximate location, pages visited and activity on the website. We also measure interactions with installation prompts and use of the installed web app.

Google processes technical information, including IP addresses, as part of providing its services. How Google handles this information depends on the service, region and settings. You can read how Google uses information from websites that use its services and use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Cookies, saved progress and offline storage

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. Local storage and browser caches also allow the website to retain information on your device.

DMZ Codex uses browser storage for saved preferences, crafting plans, skill-tree plans, FOB upgrade progress, installation prompts and offline access. Saved tool progress is stored locally on your device; the site's tool code does not upload that saved progress to an account or database. Analytics and advertising services may use cookies or similar technologies separately.

You can block or delete cookies and clear website storage through your browser settings. Doing so may reset saved preferences or progress, remove offline content and affect some features. Clearing browser storage does not delete information already processed by a service provider.

Advertising

DMZ Codex includes Google AdSense code. When Google's advertising services operate on the website, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads and prevent fraud.

Google's advertising cookies may enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this website and other websites. Ad personalization depends on the services enabled and applicable settings and choices. You can manage personalized advertising through Google's Ad Settings. See Google's advertising information for more detail.

Service providers and information sharing

We use third-party services for hosting, content delivery, security, analytics and other website features. Cloudflare provides website delivery and security services. Google services are used for analytics, fonts and advertising, and some articles include embedded YouTube videos.

When external resources or embedded content load, your browser connects to the relevant provider. These providers may receive technical information and process it under their own policies. Read Cloudflare's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.

We may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to investigate abuse, protect the website or defend our rights.

Data storage and retention

Information may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on where our service providers operate.

Retention periods vary by the type of information, its purpose and provider settings. Browser-stored information may remain on your device until it expires or you clear it. Contact messages are retained as needed to handle your request and maintain relevant correspondence.

Your privacy choices

You can manage cookies and website storage through your browser and use the Google Analytics opt-out tool and advertising settings linked above.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Contact us to make a request. We may need information to verify and respond to your request.

Our website links to third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our website and services change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision.
