MW4 DMZ Story Missions guide: objectives and rewards

Pre-launch guide. Written from official info released before early access. We update it as the game goes live.

Story Missions are DMZ’s main story. When you pick one at the Deploy station, you spawn near your objectives with a briefing, and finishing it pays rewards and progression.

Officially, they’re about the power vacuum in Hajin after the fall of the Supreme Leader: follow orders, unmask a new threat, and destroy its operations across the DMZ.

Operation Critical Extraction

Intel says a High Value Target is recovering in the hospital. Find him and get him out.

Objectives: locate the HVT → eliminate resistance → extract the HVT.

What happens: you approach Mirae General Hospital, find General Kang, and move him to safety. He is moved on a hospital bed. Expect close-quarters fights through the wards.

Rewards: 25,000 DMZ Cash and a Defibrillator.

Operation Silent Ledger

A casino job in Cheongun Village to recover stolen printing plates.

Objectives: enter the casino → breach the vault → secure the printing plates.

The Heavenly Luck Casino is the one High threat spot in an otherwise Low village. The power is out, so bring NVGs. The vault sits at the top of the penthouse behind a gate: get the power back on, find a drill to open the vault, then get out fast. The reveal footage used motorbikes.

Rewards: 25,000 DMZ Cash, a Gold bar, and the Polaris Dagor A1.

Operation Shopping Hacks

A network-hacking job at NuriGO Mall, tied to Lieutenant Jang-ui’s encampment.

Objectives: hack the network → reprogram the protocol → secure the evidence.

The mall has a large unlit underground level. NVGs help, and this mission rewards a pair.

Rewards: 25,000 DMZ Cash and Night Vision goggles.

Operation Iron Citadel and Operation Grid Assault

These two unlock new infil vehicles in Deployment Requisition:

Iron Citadel unlocks the LTV: 25,000 DMZ Cash per infil, with an optional mounted .50-cal.
Grid Assault unlocks the Heli: 50,000 DMZ Cash per infil.

Both vehicles can then be used for Dynamic Operations and Free Roam infils. More in the vehicles guide.

Tips for Story Missions

Replay and random. You can replay missions or let the game pick a random Story Mission, and there are extra rewards for completion milestones.
Mission items don’t fill your bag. Critical items go into the dedicated Mission Item slot.
Story missions vs Orders. DMZ Orders are a separate chain of tasks. Read the Orders walkthrough.
Exfil to keep the rewards safe. See the exfil guide.
