MW4 DMZ Biomaterials and Binding Catalyst: a Medkit supply run
Know your missing ingredient before entering the hospital, then leave with enough for the craft you planned.
Jump to a section
Search hospitals and chemical lockers for Biomaterials, and Mirae General Hospital or medical tents for Binding Catalyst. A Medkit needs 30 Chemicals, one Binding Catalyst and five Biomaterials. These areas are search leads, not guaranteed drops; Biomaterials also have a recipe after Uncommon Ingredient Printing is unlocked.
- Medkit: 30 Chemicals + 1 Binding Catalyst + 5 Biomaterials
- Biomaterials: hospitals and chemical lockers
- Binding Catalyst: hospital and medical tents
- Printing Biomaterials requires an upgrade
For one Medkit, bring home five Biomaterials and one Binding Catalyst, with 30 Chemicals available at the printer. Start with that shopping list instead of collecting medical loot without a target.
Check your shortage at the FOB
Open the 3D Printer, select Medkit and track its recipe. Compare the requirement with your Stash before deploying.
| Planned craft | Chemicals | Binding Catalyst | Biomaterials |
|---|---|---|---|
| One Medkit | 30 | 1 | 5 |
| Two Medkits | 60 | 2 | 10 |
Subtract what you already have. If you have four Biomaterials and a catalyst, one more Biomaterial completes the ingredient part of the first craft. Filling your backpack with unrelated valuables does not solve that shortage.
Check earned Survival Kits as well. A kit containing a Medkit may solve the immediate equipment shortage while you save ingredients for a later deployment. If you specifically need to complete Healer, follow its tracking and printing objectives; equipping a kit reward is a different action.
Choose the right search area
| Missing ingredient | Recorded search hint | What to inspect |
|---|---|---|
| Biomaterials | Hospitals and chemical lockers | Medical storage and the named locker type |
| Binding Catalyst | Mirae General Hospital and medical tents | Medical supply containers in those areas |
Use the hospital area on the map to plan the approach. That link marks the wider location, not an exact ingredient spawn. A Clinic can be useful for general healing supplies, but its medical theme does not guarantee either ingredient in a particular container.
Prepare armor, healing and inventory space before searching. The hospital is also associated with The Doctor and the Critical Extraction Story Mission. An ingredient run does not require you to start either encounter; reassess if the live situation makes the search too costly.
Search, identify and leave
- Search the relevant containers while watching your tracked shortage.
- Read the pickup’s full name. Biomaterials, Binding Catalyst and Chemicals are separate requirements.
- Protect an important ingredient in an available Secure Slot where applicable.
- Once the shopping list is satisfied, compare the value of more searching with the risk of losing the ingredients.
- Extract, transfer the ingredients into your Stash and return to the printer.
An empty or previously looted container is a reason to search another suitable one, not proof that the recipe hint is broken. No guaranteed spawn, reset timer or fixed number of containers is established here.
When printing Biomaterials is the better option
The Biomaterials recipe lists 20 Synthetics and 20 Chemicals after Uncommon Ingredient Printing is unlocked. If you already bought that upgrade, inspect the recipe before committing to another medical loot run.
Keep the two spending decisions separate: printing the ingredient uses Chemicals, and printing the Medkit uses another 30. Do not spend your entire Chemical reserve on ingredients and leave the final craft unfunded.
This printing alternative applies to Biomaterials. A Binding Catalyst recipe is not established by that fact. For other ingredient shortages, use the material search guide and crafting planner.
Quick questions
Where should I look for Binding Catalyst?
The recorded ingredient hint points to Mirae General Hospital and medical tents. Search their medical containers, but do not treat any one container as a guaranteed drop.
Can I print Biomaterials instead of searching?
Yes, after the required Uncommon Ingredient Printing upgrade. The recorded recipe uses 20 Synthetics and 20 Chemicals; check your current printer menu and keep enough Chemicals for the Medkit afterward.
How many ingredients do I need for two Medkits?
Two applications of the recorded Medkit recipe require 60 Chemicals, two Binding Catalysts and ten Biomaterials.
