Dynamic Operations offer cash and Supply Drops, with displayed payouts of 10,000 to 20,000 DMZ Cash. Reported Story Mission payouts differ; check the current briefing and after-action report. Extracted Weapon Manuals and Recipes pay 5,000, and several Lieutenants list 10,000 on the Boss Board. Keep enough in the Bank to rescue an Operator.
- Dynamic Operations: 10,000–20,000 DMZ Cash each
- Story Mission cash: check the briefing and after-action report
- Extracted Weapon Manual or Recipe: 5,000 DMZ Cash
- Vendor stock changes every day
DMZ Cash pays for nearly everything at the FOB: weapons, attachments, vehicle infils, intel and MIA rescues. This guide shows the best ways to earn it and how not to waste it.
How DMZ Cash works
- Cash you earn and extract goes into your Bank at the FOB.
- The Bank is shared by all your Operators.
- The Bank has a maximum. Gameplay menus show 100,000 before Bank I. Its listed 20,000-Cash upgrade sets capacity to 250,000; Bank II is reported at 50,000 for 500,000 total capacity. Check your current limit in the Bank guide.
- Your After Action Report lists the cash you earned after every run.
The best ways to earn
For a focused safe search and the separate 5,000-value extraction objective, use the safes and Robbery walkthrough. Safe contents vary; a room visit is not a guaranteed cash payout.
| Source | Pays | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Dynamic Operations | 10,000–20,000 each | Paid straight into your Bank. Each one also calls a Supply Drop |
| Story Missions | Varies | Older mission briefings list 25,000; a Critical Extraction after-action report shows a 5,000 Story Mission payout. Check the current briefing and report before planning around a fixed amount. Gear and unlocks depend on the mission. |
| Lieutenants | 10,000 Boss Board reward | Shown for Bale, Iskra, Jin-Tae, Scavenger and The Doctor. A kill pays XP and cash even if you don’t take the case |
| Weapon Manual | 5,000 | Paid when you extract it, plus the gun unlock |
| Recipe | 5,000 | Paid when you extract it, plus the recipe unlock |
| Valuables | Item value | A Gold bar is worth 25,000. Browse Dog Tags & valuables |
| UAV Towers | Cash | Activating one reveals nearby players and AI and pays cash |
| Bounties | The target’s bounty | Kill a Wanted player and extract their Dog Tag. Risky. See the bounty guide |
Where money hides in Hajin: vaults and cash registers. Look in banks and shops as you pass.
A simple money plan
- Deploy into a Dynamic Operation and finish as many Operations as you can in one run. The pay goes to your Bank even before you exfil.
- Grab any Weapon Manual or Recipe you see. 5,000 each plus a permanent unlock is the best value in the game.
- Fill spare space with valuables and extract them.
- Complete Story Missions for their listed gear, cash and unlocks. Check each mission’s rewards before deploying.
- Hunt Lieutenants when your squad is ready. See the bosses guide.
Traits that earn more
- Investor (Scout): slightly more cash extracted.
- Container Looter (Scout): a chance of an extra item in containers.
- LT Hunter (Warfighter): extra paid intel from Lieutenant Towers.
Plan them in the skill tree planner.
What to spend it on
| Where | What it costs | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Gunsmith | Weapons and attachments. The first attachment on a gun adds a 1,000 slot cost | Unlocks at DMZ Level 10. A Gunsmith Discount takes 5% off |
| Vendor | Rotating gear and prebuilt weapon offers; inspect the current price | Unlocks at DMZ Level 5. Stock changes every day, so check it often |
| Vehicle infils | Polaris Dagor A1 5,000, LTV 25,000, Heli 50,000, Cargo Plane 100,000 | Walking in is free |
| MIA rescue | Grows with the Operator’s Trait Points | Always keep enough for one rescue |
| Intel | Lieutenant intel and bounty intel | Buy it when you plan to hunt |
| Your own bounty | Pay it down at a Bounty Station | Stops other players hunting you |
Mistakes to avoid
- Don’t spend your last cash on a vehicle infil. If the run fails, you can’t rescue your Operator.
- Don’t sit at the Bank cap. Above the maximum, new income is wasted. Spend or upgrade.
- Check your equipped build before deploying. Test recoil and optics at the Firing Range.

Quick questions
What is the fastest way to make money in MW4 DMZ?
Dynamic Operations. Each completed Operation puts 10,000 to 20,000 DMZ Cash straight into your Bank and calls a Supply Drop. Chain several in one deployment and the drops get better too.
Is there a limit to how much DMZ Cash I can hold?
Yes. The Bank has a maximum. Two gameplay menus show 100,000 before Bank I, which lists 20,000 Cash for a 250,000 limit. Bank II is reported at 50,000 for 500,000 capacity. Check your own limit; later tiers are unconfirmed. Above the cap, spend your cash so new income isn't wasted.
Do I lose my DMZ Cash if I die?
No. Cash already in your Bank is safe. What you lose on a failed run is unsecured gear and loot you were carrying.
