Hajin map guide: every major area and its threat level

Thirteen major areas, from quiet farmland to the Extreme bunker under Chang-san Air Base. Where to go, and what to bring.

Pre-launch guide. Written from official info released before early access. We update it as the game goes live.

In short

Hajin has 13 major areas, each rated by threat from Low to Extreme. Cheongun Village, Mirae General Hospital and Songdo Wharf are the calmest starts. The Grid and the 14th Political Prison reach Critical, and the Chang-san Air Base Bunker and the Nenshin Tech Complex are Extreme. The Haneul Nuclear Reactor needs radiation gear and a gas mask.

  • 13 major areas, 61 places in total
  • Threat runs Low → Medium → High → Critical → Extreme
  • 2 Extreme zones: Air Base Bunker, Nenshin Tech Complex
  • Reactor: radiation gear + gas mask required

Hajin is split between a South Korean side and the former North Korea, with the Hajin River running through it. Every area has a threat level. The higher it is, the tougher the enemies and the better the loot.

Open the interactive map to see every area pinned on the official tactical map. In-game, the Tac-Map has a grid: letters run west to east, numbers run north to south (D7 is Imjin Farmland). Hajin has over 60 named locations. The Russian side north of the river is fog-covered and closed at launch.

Areas are rated by the most dangerous zone inside them. Deadtown’s outskirts are Low, for example, but its Re-Education Center is Medium.

The South Korean side

Cheongun Village: north, Low

The northernmost South Korean village on the river, split by border controls. Mostly Low, including the Russian Border Crossing. The exception is the Heavenly Luck Casino at its heart (High), where Operation Silent Ledger sends you into the vault.

Mirae General Hospital: north-central, Low

Hajin’s main hospital next to a train station. Triage tents and barracks outside, close-quarters fights through the wards inside. Home of Operation Critical Extraction.

Cheonwang Peak Array: central, Medium

The largest telecom array in Hajin, on a central summit. Now an enemy barracks with a rooftop helipad and long views.

NuriGO Mall: northeast city, up to High

Shops, a police station, a clinic and City Hall above a huge unlit underground mall. Bring NVGs. NuriGO East is Medium; NuriGO West is High. Lieutenant Jang-ui has an encampment here.

The Grid: central city, Critical to Extreme

The walled-off business district of Hajin City, with barricades, watchtowers and rooftop fights. Every zone is Critical: DBN Headquarters, Hanex Bank, Minsok Art School and the Construction Zone. The Nenshin Tech Complex is Extreme.

Songdo Wharf: east city, Low

Apartments, a market, a pier and a lighthouse, plus working train and monorail lines. Includes Oamsik Turtle Island and Shoreline Station. An Underground Order asks you to place a transmitter on top of La Grande Vie here.

Wolves Stadium: south-central city, Medium

The ruined home of the local baseball team, surrounded by shops, apartments and a police station. Includes the Theatre.

Hajin River Heights: southeast, Medium

A battered residential district rising toward the South Fork of the river. Includes South Island and Jinseo Park Towers.

Imjin Farmland: south-southwest, Low to Medium

Open rice fields, farms and rail lines on a floodplain. Long sightlines and little cover, so watch for snipers. The Rice Mill is Medium.

Haneul Nuclear Reactor: northeast, High

A damaged nuclear plant under a cloud of radioactive vapor. You need Radiation Gear and a Gas Mask to go in. Ways in are by water or through the Compound Delta tunnel. Find radiation gear at Fire Stations.

The former North Korea

14th Political Prison: northwest, up to Critical

A concrete-walled detention camp on a cleared plateau, with watchtowers on every corner. The main gate and checkpoint are to the south, the barracks to the east, the river to the west. The Prison and Fortress Prison Yard are High; The Citadel is Critical.

Chang-san Air Base: west, Critical to Extreme

A heavily guarded air base cut into a granite hillside, with a runway, helipad, hospital, barracks and a command building over a vast underground complex. The exterior is Critical. The Bunker is Extreme: its doors are on the southern hillside, best reached through the elevated southern woods. Lieutenant Bale is linked to this base.

Deadtown: southwest, Low to Medium

A deserted farming town taken over by the military. Street fights above, sewers underneath, and a clinic and gas stations at each end of town. Military storage hides in the newer raised blocks on the east side, by the river. The Re-Education Center is Medium. A Counterfeit Order asks you to hack a UAV Tower here.

Quick questions

What is the most dangerous place in Hajin?

Two areas are rated Extreme: the Bunker under Chang-san Air Base and the Nenshin Tech Complex inside The Grid.

Where should a new player land in DMZ?

Start in a Low-threat area such as Cheongun Village, Mirae General Hospital, Songdo Wharf, Imjin Farmland's exterior or the outskirts of Deadtown.

Will the Hajin map get bigger?

Yes. The developers have said Hajin will expand when the Russian frontier and the North open up. They have also named a new DMZ location, XL1, for Season 1 (November 6) and a post-launch map called X01. With Season 1, Hajin also becomes a Warzone map.
