Health & survival4
DMZ damage and movement tuning DMZ uses its own combat tuning; multiplayer and Warzone damage numbers are not interchangeable. Field Upgrade recharge Field Upgrades do not recharge during a DMZ deployment. MIA Operator recovery An eliminated Operator can become MIA; recovery preserves traits but does not restore lost equipment. Tourniquet recovery Tourniquet recovery leaves you wounded and in need of follow-up medical treatment.
Stealth & threat4
Dynamic weather Rain, fog and overcast conditions can change visibility. Proximity Chat Nearby voice chat uses distance, direction and environmental audio cues. Stealth Meter The Stealth Meter warns as AI approaches detection; cover and going prone can help. Threat escalation Player activity can trigger stronger enemy reinforcements.
Bounties & PvP3
Bounty Intel Use Bounty Stations to obtain intel on wanted Operators. Lieutenant Dog Tag Case tracking Carrying a Lieutenant case reveals your position; extracting it advances the Boss Board. PvP Bounties and Wanted status Operator kills build a bounty, while wanted status exposes you to rival hunters.
Loot & crafting11
Automatic resource breakdown Loot breaks down into basic resources; crafting ingredients remain separate items. Blueprint use in DMZ Owned blueprint instances and later DMZ Cash repurchases follow different rules. Dynamic Operation Supply Drops Supply-drop rarity can increase through successful operations in the same deployment. Key grid references Key descriptions can include a map grid reference without revealing an exact door pin. Mission Item slot Critical Story Mission and Dynamic Operation items use a dedicated mission slot. Resource and Recipe tracking The game supports pinning recipes and highlighting tracked ingredients in loot. Secure Slots Secure Slots in upgraded backpacks protect their contents on failed extraction. Shared Attachment Bonus Level Up Previously unlocked shared attachments can skip a repeated attachment unlock level. Weapon carry limit You can carry two weapons and a melee weapon in and out of a deployment. A Weapon Backpack adds a slot for an extra weapon. A gun you extract with is a single instance: if you lose it, you need its Weapon Manual to buy it again. Weapon condition Damage to weapon components can affect their appearance and handling. Weapon purchase unlock Extract a Weapon Manual to unlock repeat Gunsmith purchases; a weapon instance alone is not the unlock.
Match & exfil6
After Action Report After every deployment, a report rates your run from F to S++ across Objectives, Combat and Looting and shows the XP earned. Exfil locations Active extraction sites are selected from a pool. Match population The deployment population limit is 20 squads and 60 players. Reconnect after disconnect Reconnect while the original server is still running. Single Squad Mission footage A Single Squad Mission option appears in the Select Deployment menu; its rules are not described on screen. Squad-size matching and assimilation Matching prefers similar squad sizes, but does not guarantee solo-only matches.
Other systems7
DMZ Bank DMZ Cash you extract goes to your FOB Bank. It pays for weapons, attachments, MIA rescues, Lieutenant intel and bounty intel. The Bank has a maximum, which Bank Upgrades raise. Hostiles Kill Count A HUD meter tracks how many enemy combatants you have eliminated in the deployment. If it fills up, an enemy Hunt Squad is sent to track you down and you become Marked for Death. Radiation storm Radiation spreads across Hajin during a deployment. A HUD timer shows when the radiation storm will intensify; as it worsens, head for an exfil or risk being caught somewhere too hostile to survive. Tac-Map grid The Tac-Map has a grid overlay: letters run west to east and numbers run north to south. D7, for example, is Imjin Farmland. Every Key's description includes a grid location. Trait acquisition Each Operator earns up to 18 trait points through Dog Tag progression. Truce and assimilation Use the Ping Wheel to request a Truce with a rival squad, or to assimilate with another squad. Squads are three players; assimilation can take a squad up to four. Vultures over bodies Vultures circle low in the sky over the bodies of dead players. They signal a recent fight, loot left behind and possibly the squad that did it.
