MW4 DMZ progression: what carries over to Multiplayer?
Weapon progress can carry across modes while DMZ levels follow their own track.

DMZ XP also advances overall Player Progression, but Multiplayer and Warzone XP do not raise your DMZ level. Weapon levels and attachment unlocks are shared. DMZ weapon purchases have a separate Manual requirement in the developer’s specific guidance.
- DMZ has its own 70 levels
- Overall progression runs from 1 to 55
- Weapon levels and attachments are shared
- Warzone integration is scheduled for November 6
Which progress carries across?
| Progress | What carries over? | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Overall Player Progression | DMZ XP also advances the overall 1–55 track | Your overall level in Career |
| DMZ level | Separate 1–70 track; MP and Warzone XP do not raise it | DMZ level rewards |
| Weapon levels | Shared across DMZ, Multiplayer and Warzone | The weapon’s level, rather than your player level |
| Attachment unlocks | Shared across modes | Whether that attachment fits the weapon |
| DMZ purchase access | Specific developer guidance requires extracting the corresponding Manual | The requirement at your FOB Gunsmith |
As of October 21, Warzone integration is scheduled for Season 1 on November 6. The shared-progression rule includes Warzone, but that does not mean the MW4 integration is already live.
Why is my weapon leveled but still locked at the FOB?
Weapon XP and permission to buy another copy serve different purposes. You can bring home a looted gun, level it and unlock attachments without that physical instance becoming an unlimited replacement supply.
The Weapon Manual guide explains the extraction unlock. Official wording on purchase access differs: the developer’s detailed answer separates it from MP unlocks, while the arsenal overview describes broader cross-mode availability. Follow the requirement displayed by your Gunsmith until that difference is resolved.
Which level should you work on?
If you need a DMZ station or deployment feature, use the DMZ level rewards rather than an MP level table. If you need attachments, use the weapon’s progression screen.
For Operator traits, use the skill trees guide. For resets, consult the Prestige systems guide: Player, Weapon and Operator Prestige are different decisions. Do not use one track’s reset rules to predict another’s.
