MW4 DMZ launch fixes: October 20–21 changes that affect your run

What the dated fixes address, which guides help, and what to record if a problem returns.

In short

Infinity Ward’s launch notes list DMZ fixes applied October 20 and 21. They cover onboarding blockers, operation failures, progression credit and FOB controls. Treat these as dated fixes, not a live server-health report.

  • Official fix dates: October 20 and 21, 2026
  • Toxic Intercept failure addressed October 21
  • Check current objectives before repeating an old workaround

Update before retrying a blocked objective. Infinity Ward’s launch patch notes record the changes below as addressed on October 20 or 21. This article groups the DMZ changes by what you are trying to do; the official page remains the full changelog.

Starting DMZ and reaching the FOB

October 20 fixes include the Breaking New Ground door-breach crash, a tablet failing after the drone search and the first-deployment equipment soft lock. Use the intro walkthrough or Gear Up guide to match your actual stopping point.

Dynamic Operations

Inaccessible code safes were addressed October 20. Toxic Intercept’s failure after Defend the Bomb and enlarged operation-text problems were addressed October 21. The Dynamic Ops hub links the current walkthroughs; Toxic Intercept separates the reported tanker route from that historical bug wording.

XP, challenges and FOB menus

The notes address first-match XP display, mission-credit duplication, squad Commander/King Slayer credit, Dog Tag Case errors, an empty-recipe untracking kick and selected Gunsmith problems. See the Calling Cards guide, Dog Tags guide and 3D Printer guide for the underlying systems.

If the problem still happens

A historical fix does not identify the cause of every new failure. Before retrying, save the operation name, exact objective text, platform and the action immediately before the problem. Include whether you had updated the game and whether the step registered for your squadmates.

Use those details when checking the official live-issues link in the patch notes or sending a correction. Avoid sacrificing equipment to an old workaround without first confirming that it applies to the same issue.

For a fresh start, follow the updated first-hour checklist. For a route problem, use the interactive Hajin map alongside your current Tac-Map.
