For DMZ, Infinity Ward has named a new location, XL1, for Season 1 and a later expansion toward Russia, but has not shared the full Season 1 DMZ content yet.

Hajin becomes a Warzone map

With Season 1, Hajin is also a Warzone Battle Royale map. So the zone you learn in DMZ is the same ground Warzone players will drop into.

What this means for DMZ players:

  • Your map knowledge counts twice. The 13 major areas, roads and rooftops you learn in DMZ carry over to Warzone.
  • DMZ stays its own mode. DMZ keeps its own damage and movement tuning, FOB, progression and exfil rules.
  • Not known yet: how much the Warzone version of Hajin changes the layout or closes off areas compared with DMZ.

Your weapon levels and attachment unlocks are shared between DMZ, Multiplayer and Warzone (cross-mode weapon progression), so leveling a gun in DMZ helps you in Warzone too.

What’s next for DMZ

Infinity Ward has named three things coming after launch:

  1. XL1. In the From The Ward episode on October 5, the developers named XL1 as a new DMZ location for Season 1 and compared it to Building 21 from the 2022 DMZ.
  2. X01. In a Reddit AMA on October 9, the team called its first post-launch DMZ map X01. It isn’t clear yet whether X01 and XL1 are the same place under two names.
  3. A bigger Hajin. Hajin will grow toward the Russian border once the northern area opens, in a later season.

The developers also say more bosses, maps and events will follow after launch. We will add them to the database as soon as they are confirmed.
